Basal Cell Carcinoma

Customer's Comment: My mole is 3mm and has a scab after it started to bleed. It is on my back at the top right.

Basal Cell Carcinoma

Analysis

If the mole has been going through some changes (bleeding, scabbing) it needs to be examined by a physician.

Please note that bleeding and scabbing are some of the symptoms of basal cell carcinoma.

In addition, by visually examining the mole image, it appears to have similarity to the basal cell carcinoma picture below:

Conclusion

Due to the visual similarity of the mole to a skin cancer image on the Web, and because the mole is bleeding and scabbing, the mole needs to be examined by a physician.

Customer's Comment: The mole is on the right side of the nose. It is itchy at times and painful. Size: 5mm.

Customer's Comment: This mole has been on the lower rear calf of my left leg for at least two years. It is 10 mm in length. The middle is very depressed and can be pushed-in further as it seems that the tissue beneath it has shrunken or died.

Thanks

Basal Cell Carcinoma

Analysis

The skin lesion has the looks of a scar, which might, among other things, be an indication of basal cell carcinoma.

Here are some facts about basal cell carcinoma:

  • Basal cell skin cancer grows slowly and is usually painless.

  • It may appear as a scar-like sore without having injured the area; the scar may (or may not) develop a crust. It is often difficult to visually distinguish basal cell cancer from acne scar.

  • Almost never spreads (metastasizes) beyond the original tumor site.

Customer's Comment: I had this raised lump for a few years. It has grown rapidly in the last three weeks. My younger brother died of melanoma.

Basal Cell Carcinoma

Analysis

The main possible diagnoses for this lesion on the face are benign mole and basal cell carcinoma.

Since you have noticed a rapid change, the lesion should be examined by a physician ASAP.

Generally speaking, if a lesion is soft and compressible and can be easily moved from side to side, it's *likely* benign.
